Wind Power Facts – Everything You NEED To Know!
Wind power facts: Because of the evident climate change that brings about destruction here and there, more and more people are finding ways to lessen, if not to totally avert, global warming which is the main culprit for climate change. But the fact is, it is also us humans who are responsible for causing climate change because of our choice to go for many things unnatural: one of which is by depending on electricity that runs on fossil fuel, that when burned, emits hazardous carbon amounts to the atmosphere.
This carbon blocks the heat released on earth from escaping, thus, the trapped heat causes global warming. Global warming engendered climate change and climate change has already displayed its wrath in the form of floods with great proportions in many parts of the world. Now that many of us are aware of the problem, we are told that we can still do something to minimize global warming. And yes, we can. We can do our share if we go for cleaner electric source in the likes of wind energy
While it’s called wind energy, do you know that what actually powers the wind is the sun?
Huh? How come?
Well, if you have already forgotten what your general science teacher taught you in elementary, or in case you were absent when it was taught, the explanation is really simple. When the sun heats the face of the earth, the air becomes warm. Now, what happens to warm air? It moves up towards the atmosphere. Some parts of the land though are not accessed by the sun’s heat, thus, they remain cool. What happens next is that as the warm air goes up, the cold air moves to the place that has been left by the warm air. Can you picture this out? The process of moving of the cold air to fill the gaps that the warm air has created produces what? You’re right, wind?
It’s plain and simple, right?
Now, how does wind energy come into existence? Well, it really won’t take a lot of brains.
It’s actually like the reverse action of your electric fan. The electric fan works by first, getting electricity. Then, the motors move the blades. The blades create wind. Now, imagine the opposite. That will be how wind energy is produced. First, the blades of the windmill otherwise known as wind turbines move as the wind blows. As the blades move, they create energy that is then that is delivered and stored in the generator. From this generator, the energy will run though the wiring and provide electricity.
Got it? Good!
I told you, it won’t be above your head.
Now that you know some interesting facts about wind energy, wouldn’t you agree that it’s indeed clean? I also have something more important to tell you: You can actually build your own wind turbines with a DIY (do it yourself) kits available in the market today. No kidding!
So, what are you waiting for? Search the net as to where you can buy your own wind energy DIY kit.
Good luck and enjoy installing it!
