There is a lot of interest in Solar Energy Facts at the moment as people try desperately to save money on the electric bill, but on a lot of the sites I have seen there is tons of irrelevant technical information that people can’t use.

5 Interesting facts on solar energy:

* In 5 billion years the sun will run out of fuel.
* The world first solar energy collector was invented by a Swiss scientist in 1767.
* The first time solar energy was used to heat or cook was in 1830 where a British man made breakfast from the power of the sun.
* In just one minute the sun gives off enough power to light up the whole world for a year.
* All the satellites in the sky that power our TV and navigation devises use solar cells and nothing else.
