Solar Energy Diagram

One of the best and most useful examples of solar energy I have seen is a solar water heater because you can start to see the money saving effect of solar power right away in something that you use every day.

Heating your water using solar power has a couple of parts…

1. The solar collector which is like a battery that gets charged up when the sun in out.
2. The storage tank that collects and heats the water.

So the basic operation is that sun hits the cell on your roof then the energy travels down to the solar modul and from there to your water tank where the water is filtered and heated.
